Don't waste your money on this phony book. It is incomplete, the stories are not from the Alcoholics Anonymous book, the chapter on how it works in incorrect. Get the real thing iTunes, for real alcoholics to listen to.
    • Poorly read

The narrator is obviously not a member of AA. He mispronounces words and mis-reads sentences. There are also missing words. The other version available on iTunes is also poorly read. We need the Big Book and the Twelve and Twelve in audio! Someone with AA experience and a decent voice needs to record them.

I couldn't make a meeting tonight so I thought this would suffice.

The speaker doesn't do a good job of speaking. He makes several mistakes as he reads and it's distracting. The album is incorrectly labeled as far as "songs" are concerned. There isnt a track labeled "The Family Afterward" instead it is labeled "To The Wives" twice. The audiobook is better read and properly labeled.

    • What's against the traditions about the book?

You wouldn't question whether it is within the traditions if you were a blind alcoholic.
    • Which tradition does an audiobook version of the "Big Book" violate?

I don't see a problem with having the Big Book on your iPod. Copyright issues? I'm no attorney. I intend to stay sober for the rest of my life and I'll take all the help I can get.
    • Violation of Traditions?

The 1st and 2nd edition were not copyrighted. Therefore it is not theft. Also, it would really only be a violation of the 11th Tradition if there was a persons name attached. Also, very helpful while riding in the car.

is this a violation of our traditions? is alcoholics anonymous getting any of the proceeds? do they even know this is going on?
