Break of Day - Single

While the verses have the same kind of low-toned edge seen in some songs from Cathedrals, the chorus has a beautiful piano sound with brighter, more hopeful lyrics, which is a nice contrast. The vocal layovers in the bridge, too, are something I have been wanting to see more of from TAN; they are very well-done. Love this song--definitely in my favorites for TAN music, and I look forward to hearing the album this song is released in.

This song. It is a thing of beauty. One thing I love about Tenth Avenue North is that they refuse to just write happy peachy songs through a rose colored lens about how everything great in life and how awesome life with Jesus is. Because the truth is is that sometimes life is not all roses and peaches. With or without Jesus. We all struggle with darkness. With or without Jesus. I am just so thankful for how honest and raw and vulnerable and approachable Tenth Ave. is and continues to be and is more and more with every new song/album. They aren't afraid to talk about the struggles we all face. The demons we all feel creeping up on us every once in awhile. The deep, dark secrets we all hold close that we're afraid to speak of or to even think about sometimes. I'm just so thankful for music that acknowledges the struggle with darkness and points me back to my only hope in until the day breaks and the light pierces the dark. As this song so beautifully states: "There's light on the horizon. Mercy meets the morning...Even if I fall a thousand times, I'll keep calling Your name... Waiting for the break of day."
