I was born in 71, and because of my dad's great taste in music, I grew up on the jazz/rock/fusion of this era. The older I get, the more I appreciate this era of music and this album in particular. In my opinion, this album sets the standard for this type of music. Mahavishnu, The Eleventh House, Brand X, Michael Urbaniak, Jan Hammer, Larry Coryell, etc, etc were ALL great, but there is something different about the way this album came together. This album is on my Mt Rushmore of greatest albums of all time from any genre. I don't write reviews on ITunes very often. Lately I've been looking around on ITunes for hidden gems from the past that I've never heard before from this time, saw this album, and was forced to comment. If you like this era and style of music, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you buy this album!!!!! As a matter of fact, it should be considered criminal that you don't have it. My next suggestion would be that the first time you listen to it, carve out the time to listen to it completely from cover to cover. If you do this, you'll understand why I told you so. This album is absolutely phenominal.

The greatest fusion recording of all time narrowly eclipsing to Mahavishnu Orchestra's "Birds Of Fire" and Weather Report's "Black Market". The absolut pinnicle of the genre, four men at the height of their respective powers.

Arguably one of the best jazz albums released in this particular era. We played this album until it wore out back in the late 70s in high school. Along with Miles Davis Agharta, It changed forever the way I thought about jazz and music in general.

I was introduced to this at the tender age of 13. I immediately stepped up in maturity - I actually felt it! My three kids can't grasp the complexity of this music (nor can my wife). It grows on you, and grows on you, until you know every twist and turn. So enjoy the ride.

Gosh, i found this CD for $3 at a local music store. Bought it on the spot. I had heard only of Chick Corea. Now, Stanley Clarke is my man, i listen to anything Chick Corea, and one simply must love Lenny and Al. Sorceress is definatly my favorate. A must have and a true jazz fusion classic.
