Slow, boring and about as country as a Marvin Gaye / Bee Gees collaboration.

I am grunge kinda girl. Obsessed with Chris Cornell and anything he touched. Never listened to country. Until I heard him The Chris Stapleton! I love to hear his soul in his music. He reminds me of Chris Cornell and it’s Amazing cause now I can’t get enough of Chris Stapleton! I love his music and to hear his music calms me down like Chris Cornell’s music does. I hope my son who is named Chris can sing like this one day lol. He is an amazing singer, songwriter and the way he delivers thru his music touches every sense in you.

Yes, we want to hear more sexy songs! This is a great album, no surprise, but I love the more sultry-rocky-R&Bish vibe.

Unreal. Best I have heard in a while, “the weight of the world” and “the love of a woman” are excellent! Chris Stapleton is amazing!

Though I won't download every track on this, there is not a bad song here. This is two-fisted, grab you by the balls country. It is tempting to describe Chris as the Michael Bolton of country, yet he finds a better way to use his voice to emote. The lyrics are quite good and not insulting to one's intelligence and the melodies and arrangements are interesting and never tiring. From the rocking White Horse to the bluesy It Takes A Woman to the R & B-ish I Think I'm In Love With you, Chris shows a very wide range of style, never losing quality. Loving You On My Mind reminds me of 70's soul guitar and the old Philadelphia sound or the smooth pop of Ambrosia--what a combination. Then comes the mellow The Fire, which is my favorite track. Crosswind is one of those songs one cannot help but drive fast to. The Weight Of Your World is a prefect ballad with the most heart appealing lyrics. One should be able to find something to like here.

The album is great. One of the best vocal talents of this generation. Stapleton has definitely found his niche and he plays to his strengths very well on this album. I will say that a few songs didn’t quite land for me which lends to the 4 star rating, but overall I’m very happy with the album and will keep it in my rotation for a while just like his other albums.

I love his voice but I felt the lyrics and music didn’t do a good job at conveying just how powerful his voice is.
