Like the title to this review says, Mr, Lewis didn’t write this album with the intention of hitting top charts for these songs. This album does not fall into the fast music genre like what most of the music industry has become. You are meant to actually listen and pay attention to the lyrics. If we all could slow down and do that, you’d hear the guttural pain and internal conflict of emotions in this man’s voice. This album is for everyone who is hurting, everyone who needs music that puts words and a voice to their internal struggles, to their pain. This album is for all of us that need music to be how music used to be - something you could play loud in your room and sway and cry to as it pours through the speakers directly into your heart. Something that can heal you and pull you back from that edge as it makes you feel less alone in your emotions. Aaron Lewis came out with “Frayed at Both Ends” to speak to the internal rage. And “The Hill” is the sister to that album to speak to the quiet sadness that lingers behind that outspoken anger. Thank you again Aaron for yet another stellar album and for refusing to conform to meet industry standards and demands for whatever is popular. You sir speak to the average person just trying to get by and your music is the much needed life-raft to save us broken souls.

Love Aaron Lewis since he fronted Staind and still love his music. He sounds just as good if not better in concert. Respect him for speaking up for his beliefs and not cowering as most artists do. Little more mine is totally different and it took the second listen to really enjoy it. Might be my favorite on the album. Entire album is great just like all the others.

I remember when Aaron had things to say and wrote about his pain . Now he’s just pandering to sell records to sad people not intelligent enough to know their getting railroaded. He probably votes Democrat… you know… like Drumpf used to. Sad I can’t even enjoy Staind anymore .

    • New Genre - Country Politics

Does everything in this country need to be about politics? Not everyone wants to hear political views in their country music. First couple albums were great - this one stinks.

New to country music and I doubt I would have even tried it out if my favorite singer wouldn’t have had his solo career. Absolutely love this album.
