I was putting together a playlist of songs for my wife and came across "Rain" by Patty Griffin. I could not get past it - the song was so powerful and sung so beautifully by Patty that it brought tears to my eyes. I played it over and over. The song will take you to an internal place - extraordinary.

Thank you Cameron Crowe for including Patty on the Elizabethtown Soundtrack. Beautiful cd track after rack. I can listen to the cd over and over. Very simple arrangements that really accentuate her voice.

Don't Miss Making Pies

Not sure why "Making Pies" is not selling a lot more than it is. It is heart-wrenchingly poignant and earnest, but deliciously so. I think it might be a cover, as I've heard other versions of this, and the storyline seems to make pretty explicit reference to the bombing of Britain in WW2. But I like this rendition of the song by far the best. It is a shining jewel. Just exquisite.

How is this woman not the most popular singer/songwriter in the world? If you can listen to Making Pies without choking up, you are made of stone. Finding this record is like finding a Picasso in your attic.
