I own everything the Kings have ever done and love there music. this is flat and lacks the passion of their other stuff. Maybe they are just to old. Not impressed with this album at all. What happened to the big sound?

...but it’s also about the joy. Gipsy Kings is what I listen to when I need to be reminded about the joy of living and the love of life. And, while I agree with some of the other reviewers that this CD doesn’t have the passion and grit of most of their releases this one is simply joyful and melodic. Nothing wrong with that I think. I have several of their CDs and I listen to them for various moods. With Pasajero the music is catchy the musicianship is top notch and there are some fun twists to the instrumentation. These are tunes that stick in your head. You can play this one for any occasion even for friends who don’t like their music not sung in English! I would say this if you’re a fan of the Gipsy Kings then add this one to your collection because it’s solid and has character. However if you’re not familiar with this outstanding band of musicians this would be a great way to get your ears educated. It's one of my favorites and I hope you enjoy it too. Viva Los Gipsy Kings!
Mediocracy Does Not Become Them

As a long, long time fan won over by live renditions of their raw power, I was extremely disappointed with the "glossed" over (almost generic) sound. Although . . . there are some tunes worth repeated listening here (this album doesn't wipe out all of their genius), "Pueblo" and "Canastero" are representative GK tunes. Too bad the last song, "Camargue," is album only, because this is not on the CD release . . . but if it is anything like the rest of the album, I'd just be adding another two star song to my library.
