If you love her, buy it! This album is a little bit different from the others, but it is wonderful, with her style this album was made with her opinion and it is really great to listen. Very Brazilian and with a lot of good sambas.
This is her greatest album.

nice voice & samba beat, but ... brazil's 170 million population, mostly poor, do produce the world best football players, thanks in part to the national rhythm & dance — samba. They also produce an unending stream of sexy samba starlets — few, however, innovate beyond or exceed the 1960's "girl from impanema" that set the style.

I host a weekly Brazilian jazz show. I featured this album on Saturday and my phone lines lit up with tons of listeners wanting to know more about Maria Rita. "Samba Meu", the first song on the album, is beautiful. It is slow and soulful and very rich. It's amazing that it is just her voice, a guitar and a cuica. The other song that I really enjoyed is "Ta Perdoado" in which she shifts over from a classic samba beat to a mambo/salsa rythm. FABULOUS! Lastly, check out "Casa de Noca". The piano in the background makes the song. It's almost as if Ivan Lins were playing it. In short...I love this album.
