This is a fantastic one-disc compilation of Sinatra's work on Columbia--when his voice comes across as romantic and tender (as opposed to his later "I Did It My Way" persona). Axel Stordahl's orchestral arrangements are perfect, and (with the possible exeption of "Soliloquy") he's working here with some of the finest songs of the era. These are the songs (and the voice) that got us through Word War II.
