This music touches you in places that music has long been afraid and probably unequipped to go. I'm torn - I want everyone to hear this sound; but I also don't want it to be ruined by the usual market demands of mass distribution. So I'll just keep praying these brothers don't change a thing - let the music do its hypnotic magic.

I'd heard Sankofa a few times streaming on novaplanet and had no clue what the song was called or who it was. So glad I found out - these guys are DOPE! I've always wanted to hear this kind of music - being in brass ensembles myself I know it must feel GREAT to be a part of what they do live... it surely sounds like it. I highly recommend this and anything else they do to any lover of music!

I've been lucky enough to see these guys about 4 or 5 times in various places around New York, such as Union Square, Central Park, and random subway stations. They rock - hard. It's like 9 dudes sweatin and wearing wife-beaters, givin it all they've got. I hope they make it big. I know the last time I saw them and bought a CD from them they announced they were playing a gig at The Blue Note. Anyway, they've got one more album out that's not on iTunes called "Flipside", or just the Orange One it's sometimes referred to. It's also extremely good.

These guys are amazing - brilliant, timeless music played with tremendous heart and energy. Saw these guys playing live in NY yesterday, bought their NYC Live CD on the spot, and plan to catch their last NY live performance for the summer tomorrow. I've become an instant fan. I'd implore you to buy this album to support independent music, but I know all I have to do is get you to listen. You won't need any imploring or convincing after that.

This group is amazing. Any person who likes music needs this as a part of their collection. I see them all the time in NYC. People crowd around them and are feelin the music. One man was yelling at them to play more music continuously. Shout out to the band, you all are off the hook! One of your biggest fans

Hey ITunes you have to get their CD New York City Live on here. I just bought it from the group when they were in the Union Square train station recently. It is HOT!!!! These young men are so so talented and such a pleasure to hear and watch live. There is nothing like them in music today and they need to be supported.
    • OMG!!! You Have To Hear & Feel them LIVE

This band of brothers and cousins are incredible. I saw them in June at Union Square in front of Whole Foods. They drew a huge crowd that blocked off the whole sidewalk, cars were stopping. The sound of the bass of the trumbone and the melodic flow of the trumpets was hypnotizing. The music was so relaxing. They were selling cd's like hotcakes. I bought one for $15 and it's worth more. We have to support musicians, real music lives on thru the musicians who we pass in the streets and subway. Synthesizers and drum machines will never trump the energy and sound of a live band.

Listening to the tracks is beautiful, but listening to them LIVE is Unbelievable. I've had the pleasure of hearing them at Grand Central Station in New York and the number of people that surrounded them was remarkable. They play with such energy, vibrance, enthusiasm and most def soul. It's so refreshing to see such a wonderfully enriched group of talented men. As I told one of the players, 'You make happy music!" One should def have this on heavy rotation.

if anyone is NOT aware of this unBeLIevAbLE sound you will be. if it were just trumpets that would be one thing. if it were just horns and a drummer that would be another. if it were just trumpet, trombones, baritone, sousaphone and drums that would be all that. but what this is about is the nine minds who man those instruments. the creation is a collective combination of sound, rhythm, harmony, improv, inspiration, instigation, liberation into a libation that can't be related to anything else on the planet. it's just hypnotic. listen......
