Shine

I've seen all of the ratings and responses for this starstudded album, and over 3/4 love it and rate it 5 stars like me! But, there are some people who are very dissapointed with it, and I feel sad for you who don't know what good music is. McBride's soaring powerhouse vocals truly shine on this album and if you think that it is "nothing fresh," or "very dissapointing," you must not a have a true respect for country music, or you would definitely love this album. I am a true Martina fan, and have all of her albums, plus I am 12 years of age, some of her albums I've even duplicated, just to help her with sales. The thing that does stay fresh on this album are the very touching, and up-beat feel-good songs. The thing that isn't always fresh are McBrides vocals, but there is one big excpetion to that: McBride's powerhouse vocals never get old of hearing. She is easy on the ears and on the eyes, and has proved that she is worthy of a 5 star review for this album, because of her starstudded vocals and new fresh songs. "I Just Call You Mine:" there was only one person out there who said that it sucked, and he/she hates it when "singers re-do songs just to get their money." Well I promise you that is not what McBride was trying to and isn't trying to do, and her version is the definite best I've ever heard, and will ever hear. With this album McBride proves that she is still the Queen of Country after stealing Reba's reign in the mid-90's. McBrides spectacular vocals never dissapoint.

I know, it's such an obvious pun, but I couldn't help myself. Martina, as always, is great! Very polished, but not overly so. She has surrounded herself with great musicians, certainly leaders on thier particular instruments. How many folks, other than steel players, are aware of names like Dan Dugmore and Paul Franklin. Virtuosos of the "hillbilly harp" as it's called. And she rocks! No voice singing anykind of music is more powerful than Martina's. She is excellent and Shine is just another example of that excellence.

This has to be one of Martina's best albums I've ever heard! Martina tells it like it is! Her songs are great, and you can definitely connect with them! My fave songs off this album would include: 'Wrong Baby Wrong', 'I Just Call You Mine', 'Walk Away', 'Wild Rebel Rose', and 'Lies'. (:

The only song I really like is Wrong Baby Wrong very catchy!!!!!

I am embarrassed to say that today was the first time I ever heard Martina sing. Love her. Where have I been?
