Checked this album out because he is playing at the Governors' Island music fest this summer. So thankful that I did. As much as I liked this album (especially songs not available on the itunes version like favors), I've found that I like his earlier album better. It's called Radio New York. I highly recommend both/either. Sorta reminds me of a mix between Mayer Hawthorne (the way he sings over soulful samples) and, well I can't think of someone that he raps like but it's good.

I'm not entirely sure how I stumbled across this (hours of redirecting across the intranetz) but as I listened to the album I realized something; this is rap! And I hate rap with a deep burning passion! So with this conundrum of me finding an artist that I really liked and having it completely cross into my hated music category I realized (again) that in order for something to cross that circle of hated categories music and remain in my circle of liked specific music the artist behind it has to be phenomenal! So there you go, amidst all of my nerdy ramblings of music circles in my brain I have drawn the conclusion that this artist is phenomenal
