St Anger and Frantic are great songs. The snare drum fits the emotion of the album: ANGER. So stop complaining abt it. Some of the riffs are a bit repetitive though, but remember Metallica was struggling at this point. They didn’t have a bassist for awhile, and Lars and James kinda hated each other, so this album got them through the hard times. A good 5 stars for how this came out based on what they went through

There are some good songs on here BUT Lars is definitely playing on empty trash cans… James is singing aggressively. But most of the guitar is good.

I really don’t get the hate for this album. Sure the snare is pretty laughable but it’s not even a big issue once you get used to it. St. Anger is my 3rd favorite Metallica album and I will defend it until the day I die.
This isn’t Metallica.

Not as good as Load or Death Magnetic, but one of their best. It’s a raw stream of emotion that really leans into groove metal. The last truly unique Metallica album (as of 2023).
