Rahman outshines his last masterpiece yet again - this guy is a true master magician! I have particularly enjoyed his use of jazz undertones in songs like "Adiye" in this album, and "Aaromale" in Vinnathaandi Varuvaayaa. I love the wide range of sounds he uses to construct the melody of the song, typically complemented with equally binding background singers. Totally blissful.

(Disclosure: I don't speak Tamil so I can only comment on the music.) Really enjoyed Elay Keenchan, Chithirai Nela and Nenjukulle. However, the MTV Unplugged version of Nenjukulle is much nicer. The thudding beat on the soundtrack album takes away from the melody and flow of the song. Sometimes simpler is better. Nice to see A R Rahman back in form after the disastrous Jab Tak Hai Jaan - seriously, did he just phone that one in. Here's looking forward to some more great music.

Mr. Rahman seems to be evolving as this is highly experimental music. One may need to hear it multiple times to appreciate it. It is still quite good and it seems that Mr. Rahman tends to save his best for Mr. Mani Ratnam..

This one is for keeps. I can see myself getting lost in this album 10 years from now. Such is the timeless quality of music in this album. Don't get me wrong, while Rahman is an undoubted genius however there are a few albums that have proven to be ok/good/great/really great. This is one, I believe is sublime and one of the greatest pieces of music he has made this far.
