Saw this album and gave it a preview. I didn't know how GREAT this album is/was. J. Dilla brought me here. This REALLY is a soulful album. Ms. Warwick hit-it-out-da-park on this one. Too bad it got overlooked.

it's so strange that an album this good got passed by. i am a fan of Dionne's Bacharach records, but this album shows a side of Dionne hardly seen. This album contains some of the finest soul music made in the 1970's. Was it too far ahead of its time? Another well kept secret is "Track of the Cat."

Amazing album!!! I've listened this album incessantly and I never tire of it. I agreed quest love, I was not accustomed to Dionne sounding so soulful. I'm accustomed to her Hal David, Burt Bacharach formula. In an age of auto tunes, it is so refreshing to hear true musicianship.

For some inexplicable reason, Dionne detests this album. It's one of her finest moments! A complete departure from the Bacharach and David formula, Dionne tried Holland/Dozier/Holland's and the results were/are amazing. There's not a weak cut on it. Dionne gives her vocal chords a workout they hadn't received since her initial B&D waxings. Give "Just Being Myself" another listen, Dionne!
    • the most frustrating thing about this album

is that she never made an album as soulful or perfect since. i guess the watered down pop stylings that got her paid were too risky to bear.
