The album that saved her career. She was on the verge of retiring from music due to the major disappointing “Impossible Princess”. This was a major great choice of a comeback for Kylie. A perfect way to start the new millennium. “Your Disco Needs You” and “Kids” are the weakest songs on the album in my opinion. Still one of her best works to date.

When "Light Years" was released in 2000, European fans were leery because of 97's "Impossible Princess", and fans stateside hadn't heard much of her since before that. The swirling new-disco strings, horns, and synths sound as new and fresh today as they did 14 years ago; this album, really, is a masterclass in "reinvention". Pay no mind to some of the "kitschy" song titles; even the fluff is head and shoulders above any other pop record that came out at the time.
