I "grew" up with Dwight Yoakam on the L.A. music scene since I frequented many of the places he used to play at on the Strip and the Valley. As true then and it is now, he is a one of a kind, pioneer of his own genre. I'm not a fan of typical country music or country pop, but this is not that. This is it's own unique vibe, picking up bits and pieces of other genres and weaving them into his very own soulful music. And if you want a real treat, see him live as he never disappoints giving his all in his performances.
This is an epic album and one of his finest to date.

This album is fantastic. I've seen Dwight and his band on tour twice in 2015, once in California, and once in Colorado. These songs translate well onto the stage, particularly "She." Go see him on tour. The band has great energy and the audiences are very receptive.
Second Hand Heart proves Three Pears wasn't a fluke!

It was YEARS before "Three Pears" came out and it certainly showed all of us Dwight had plenty in his tank and then some. That was in 2012 and and he's already has another out, "Second Hand Heart and another tour! I love this album even better, especially "Liar." There are many songs that can easily be singles. If Dwight's last album didn't convince you, this one certainly will! Dwight Yoakam is BACK and better than ever!
Needs to be high on the charts!

I despise what Nashville is doing now..Always been a Yoakam fan since he came on the scene…..Praise the good Lord that Dwight is the absolute best among his peers, while they integrate hip-hop beat machines with a fiddle or a banjo…This album is granny”s home cooking after a tour in Iraq…….And I know about that 2 times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
