... I suggest starting with “Jesus, the Missing Years.” It’s probably not in Prine’s Top 10 songs but when you hear it, you’ll understand that no one but John Prine would write that song. For me, that’s what makes him a musical Buddha.

Listen to this people, please! His earlier albums are masterworks, yes, but this album is more accessible and terrific introduction for anyone wondering why John Prine is so revered. This music is varied, sweet, fun, sad and always unique. Enjoy this one and then go deeper and investigate his other masterworks. There is no one else like him and never will be, I can safely say.
    • Fantastic Mr. Prine

What a collection of tunes. Been listening and buying for almost 3 decades. One of our best songwriters ever.
