    • Great Early Work

If one is expecting to hear work from his Warner Brothers/Reprise/GRP/Verve years, they need to look elsewhere. This is basically a collection of early material prior to his debut release on Warner Brothers. From his early years starting out as a newcomer, he interprets many pop standards back in the days with the same artistry that he has always used. The audio quality may not be superior, but keep in mind, this was material that was never officially released until many years later. The only song in this collection from his years on Warner Brothers is the duet with Randy Crawford, "Who's Right, Who's Wrong", taken from the live various artists album, "Casino Nights", released in 1982. In all, this is where it all started for Al Jarreau; even before singing and scatting that all of us are familiar with. His passing was a sudden loss to many, and this collection is superb for any die-hard Al Jarreau fan.

I don’t know who put this together, but a lot of these songs are not even Al Jarreau singing, and the audio quality is bad. DO NOT BUY!
