    • Aretha is great, but...

I only have one complaint with this release and the other recent "Artist + Royal Philharmonic Orchestra" releases (i.e. Beach Boys, Roy Orbison, etc.). The music is mixed a little too loud and it almost drowns out the vocals. The vocals should be the focus, not the orchestra.
    • Franklin’s Final Album is a good one

Sad to hear of her passing, prayers go out to her family and friends through this difficult time.
    • Fantastic, but is it really her?

These songs sound great, but they almost sound too good. Did they use Ms. Franklin’s old recordings and add different background vocals and orchestra? They sound wayyyy too much like her original recorded vocals from back in the day. I downloaded it anyway, but I’m skeptical.

Angel, one of the most beautiful songs Aretha has ever done, and yet there are so few recordings, and VERY limited new recordings. A true classic that never found its place.

17 reviews for the greatest singer the world has ever known, 20,000 for Taylor Swift's babble. The world is in a very, very bad moment. Aretha is like hearing God talk. THE BEST.

Excellent “new take” on classics that have already stood the test of time and love for anything Aretha! Obviously Ms. Franklin loves it or we would not have the pleasure of hearing this different, but awesome collaboration. Won’t be to everyone’s liking, but as a 50 year admirer of Aretha’s, I hear only her voice, the accompaniment is always secondary. As long as it has her stamp of approval; I approve of it too (and am enjoying it)! Purchased!

The songs are already beautiful but adding the orchestra so seamless is crazy good. Great job

Admittedly, I gave it 5 stars just from a few samples, but it sure sounds good to me. I'm not a fan of the Queen of Soul the way I am a fan of Elvis or Roy Orbison, other artists the Royal Philharmonic has recently "collaborated" with, so I'm probably more accepting of these new versions. And it's refreshing that in this case the original artist is still alive! I feel good knowing Aretha Franklin may have actually had some input here.

What a great album! They don’t change a thing with her voice, they just enhance the music, and it sounds great!
