    • Phoebe Snow and her gorgeous voice

I remember listening to this album as a teenager. Bought the vinyl and forgot to replace it. Her voice and music are so distinctive and unforgettable (even though I forgot, but had a LOT of albums). Was listening to a Paul Simon tune and she's on it with him. Went and immediately bought this album. You won't be sorry you made the decision to purchase this music. It's NOT your average "pop" music as they have it categorized here.

Looking back all these years and listening to your favorite singers, especially from the 1970's singer/songwriter heydays, Phoebe Snow stands out as one of the very best stylists although sadly what was going on in her life kept her from becoming an even greater star. Putting her child's care first must have been so consuming, its hard to believe she even did what she did through the following recordings but to listen to Second Childhood, Phoebe's second wonderful piece of music in a row was so special. I'm sure everybody remembers just what they were doing when they first heard these tunes for the first time, I sure do. What a voice, what arrangements, what style and class she was in, those days were so much different than todays but being a singer and recording songs, you hope you get it right and people love it, this collection of tunes, amazing. Its sad sitting here writing this review when I know Phoebe is no longer with us, I hope she was wrapped around love and music as she drifted away. She gave so many comfort in these recordings, its hard to say which cut I liked the best but Cash in, No regrets, All over and Two fisted love are right there at the top of this gem. These tunes will inspire up and coming singers for years to come RIP to a truly great unselfish artist who just never got the breaks in life she deserved but put a mothers love over everything and surely god will bless her in heaven. Shine on to one of our greats!

I bought this album when it was an LP, so I'm going back a long time, and it is still one of my all time favorites. Miss Snow's voice is so graceful and lovely; I know that she recorded this when her only daughter was born. My sympathies on the passing of her beloved girl.

This song is part of my childhood, no question. I hope that Phoebe is doing well and in good spirits. My condolences to her on the loss of her daughter (March 2007). I'm glad that she is performing again.

My father used to play her 8 tracks and albums when I was a kid, when I hear her voice I think of him. She has an amazing nuanced voice.

I love this album. It's a great selection of songs: eclectic, interesting, well-suited to Phoebe's pipes. The arrangements are understated and clever.

I rememeber staring at this album when my parents got divorced. The music told me everything was going to be allright. My mom got a really cool spanish style apartment with wood floors and she let me use her record player alot. I played this album over and over to try to sooth my soul. Going to flea markets with her and seeing her in a new light was so beautiful! I got some rollerskates to match my terry cloth one peice shorts and tube top. My sister got an afro perm. Bittersweet times. Excellent album. San Diego Felt Good "All Over". Cristina Rivera (Garcia)
