One of the very best vocalists of the 70's

Phoebe Snow's music came around at time in my life when female singers were just flooding the airways and the concert halls all over America, back in 1974 when I first heard Poetry man and all those surreal classic recordings that followed , I was hooked on this voice! Phoebe started to fade out later in the 70's as the toll of raising a handicapped child with severe disabiities because to much. She still recorded and I remembering buying this album ROCK AWAY and knowing Phoebe was just trying to keep her name out there. Phoebe Snow could just about do anything she put her mind to and on Rock Away she gives it her best. I personally like her penetrating style of a guitar and a great song and some atmosphere, she wrote so many in her early career, she's really missed(RIP) but this collection does have many highlights she get down and rocks out on. She still has such an amazing voice.....Its about time Itunes put this out there for people to finally hear, who may have missed it the first time around.

Like Tim, I've been waiting years for a digital release of this album. A great talent and that voice! Hope the missing Gasoline Alley track can be fixed to make it complete. This girl could rock with the best of them and yet still get mellow. One of her very best releases.

Waited along time to get to hear this again. Unfortunately Gasoline Alley isn't here. Track 4 Rock Away is also played in track 3. Hope it can be fixed . This was a lost gem of an album by a sorely missed lady. She sang her heart out on this album.
