If you are a Fifth Dimension fan this album will not dissapoint, of course you probably already know that if you are a fan, you probably bought it when it came out in the early 70's. It you just getting to know of their music, this a great album to have. Most people too young to remember the group when they were at their heights in the late 60's and early 70's have no doubt heard the eternal classic "Aquarius", but the group was much more than that. Listen to the title track of this release and hear the fabulous voices, particularly of Marilyn McCoo and the incredible harmonizing, that has been rarely matched and never eclipsed by any other group. 5D was able to blend a pop smoothness and a late 60's/early 70's funk that made listening a pleasure, and certainly wanted to make you dance, either under dim lights slowly and groove out in tunes such as "Light Sings" (my personal favorite from this album. Light Sings is an upllifting tune that deserved far greater airplay when it released, and deserves recognition as one of 5D's best works. Viva Tirado still sounds great today, a hip, jazz influence that always reminds me of being in a smoky jhazz club with a latin influence. Great song. Not many groups crossed the spectrum of being Las Vegas headliners and appearing on middle of the road television shows like Merv Griffin, and also appeal approrpiately to a younger, more hip crowd as the Fifth Dimension did. They found a solid place in the music spectrum and for several years gave us great, and some timeless songs. At times, they got a bit schmmaltzy, but can be forgiven. The vocals were always stunning. And not to mention marilyn McCoo was one of the most gorgeous women in the music scene. I recommend this album.
