All I have to say is this is amazing!!! Seal definitely did his thing on this one... I've never heard classics revisited with such intensity, passion, and precision. His voice is soooooo beyond appropriate for the genre. I am just blown away.. Great work!!!!

I have listened and been a fan of Seal's since I was a child and he does not disappoint in his soulful approach. Some artists remake songs just to make a quick buck and do it poorly, but Seal does it with dignity and from the heart. I love his voice and that he is showing us yet again, just how very talented and timeless he is.

Seal does have a could-be great soul voice, but his Memphis train seemed to run off the tracks about 10 miles outside of London. The songs here are some of the best, and they are seasoned together like BBQ sauce, but Seal doesn't find enough church in his blues and it comes off a little more Methodist than southern fried Baptist. If you're a Seal fan and you whistle Sittin' On The Dock Of The Bay whenever you hear it, then this is for you. If you're a heart-punch-me-please soul fan, I have three words for you: "Toots in Memphis". Jamaican icon Toots Hibbert (Toots and the Maytals) did this record 16 years ago and no one else from the Commonwealth has funkified himself better yet.

It pains me to write this review....REALLY it does. I'm a huge Seal fan, but the truth is the truth. One question; why remake classics? You can't touch them, that's why they call them CLASSICS! Seal attempting to is just wrong...flat out wrong. Now all of us dissenters must wait another two years for his next release. Seal! OH NO!!!

I think this song depicts an era of pain and sufffering that most of the country wish to brush under a carpet.It Seems more artist today are afraid to share raw emotion such as this classic, Can you hear Seal growl "Change Gon' Come" with a hint of southern drawl? I smile while holding back tears of pain and joy...thank you Sam Cooke and Seal for keeping real music, (Not Studio Tracks) Alive.

Seal has a very soulful voice. He has proven time and time again how talented he is simply nailing every album he has put out. I wish more artists would do the same. buy this album, you will be moved.
