In 1983 I was 27 years old but these guys sang like they were much older than their years . "Is this the End" is unbelievable with Ralph Tresvant" singing his heart out. These guys are awesome . I'm so glad these guys are still alive to see the love their fans have for them . My 5 year old granddaughter loves their music

New Edition's First Album Candy Girl Was Released March 15th, 1983. This album contained the classic hits, Candy Girl, She Gives Me A Bang, Is This The End, Popcorn Love, and Bobby Brown's Lead Song Jealous Girl. This album also contained Ralph T's Lead vocals on the tracks Ooh Baby, and Should Have Never Told Me. The album also had tracks with all members on lead vocal such as Gimme Your Love, Pass The Beat, and Gotta Have Your Lovin'. This album is great for New Edition Fans. It is also great for new fans to start with this amazing debut album by New Edition, where New Edition started. The vocals From all members Ralph T, Ricky Bell, Bobby Brown, Micheal Biv, and Ronnie DeVoe are great. All there vocals blend together well. I am only 12 and it is 2015, and I love this kind of music, not the music on the radio. I give Candy Girl 5 out of 5 stars.

I love this song it has the same feel as I want to be your lover by Prince. This is a Legendary Group!! N.E. Fan For life!! I was 3 years old when this dropped now i'm 34 Classic!!

I love the song candy girl. I heard it on an episode of everybody hates chris and loved it from the first beat I heard!!

Listening to this brought back memories when listening to music was fun. The kind of music that the whole family could listen to. No censoring required!! I played this for my kids and now my 7 year old sings Candy Girl!

Although young, they had the talent. 1983 was a very competitive year for black music and Michael Jackson, Prince, Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, Shalamar, The Gap Band, and The Pointer Sisters were those no one can compete with and so were New Edition (1980s version of the Jackson 5) with thier classic bubble gum pop/soul hits. I love the #1 R&B title track of course as well as the #25 R&B hit, "Popcorn Love." Proper adolescent slow jams such as "Is This The End" and the album closer "Jealous Girl" were what sparked the album and I love the music video of the former and Soul Train performance of the latter (performed 1 year after the album's release). I dug all the other tracks from the album except for the boring, "Ohh Baby" 9 out of 10, but you can't win them all from boys ages 14 and 15. Since this album/cd is still in print (unlike many other old school albums), this is a must purchase/download for any NE fan. I'm glad I own this cd and their self titled and Heartbreak of which these three are their best!!
