This album sticks out in their catalog because the recording differences. This album always sounded more live than studio to me, and I can dig it. Not their strongest album start to finish but a must have (like all their others).

Mean streak and Ruff Stuff earn the 2 stars . Only an album for hard core fans but probably their worst studio effort
    • Best post Lange 80s album and most underrated

Bringing back their old producers from the 70s helped bring out great tracks that want to make you rock. It's a shame that people refer to the 80s as AC/DCs lowest but this was just a prelude to what would become the razors edge

Insanely underrated! Heatseeker is one of the best songs they made and is hardcore all the way! ROCK ON! 🎸

I had been an AC/DC fan for 10 years when this album was released. At first listen, it blew me away. This was a leap forward for the band. Everything that made AC/DC great was here in abundance, but with more complex hooks, deeply layered guitar work, and a sound that was at once familiar and brand new. 25 years later, I am still listening to this album start to finish on a regular basis, and I am still pumped by it every time.

The rhythm guitar in these songs are some of Malcolm Youngs best, most notably in Ruff Stuff.

If you like AC/DC, you'll like this album, but it may take a few listens. There are good songs here, ("Heatseeker", "That's the Way I Wanna Rock & Roll", "This Means War"), but they are mostly sunk by flat and uninspired production. The drums sound hollow, the guitars are muted, and Brian Johnson sounds like he was recorded through a wall. In fact, the whole album sounds that way. A real shame, too, because some of the music arrangements really deserved better.
    • MOST UNDERRATED ALBUM EVER

For some reason these great tracks are left in the dust, while Back in Black and Whole Lot of Rosie get all the fame. This album has song on par, if not better than those songs. "Heatseeker" is the prime example of some of AC/DC's most cleverly written inuendos. "That's the way I wanna Rock 'N' Roll" has one of the best riffs in the bands career. "This Means War" has some of AC/DC's funnest lyrics. And "Ruff Stuff" is just plain awesome. everyone says "Flick of the Switch" is the most underrated album. I say this is. 5 out 5
