I didn't think the Doobies could do it better but did they ever! If you're a fan, you gotta have this album. Don't think it's just a re-hash, this is completely fresh and invigorating. Don't miss it.
    • Pretty good.

I think experimenting with classics is awesome, but these will never beat the classics. Black Water and Listen to the Music is good, but Mcdonald just is not meant to do country. He should stick with R&B, rock, and pop. However, it’s pretty cool.

Love this new CD. Just saw them in concert for the 4th time . They put on a great show. So great to see people who obviously still love what they do.

I really do understand how hardcore long time fans would have some reservations or negative comments but at 51 I followed the band from the time I was 15. Highs, lows and in between. This is a true band of Artists, including Tommy J who stepped aside to let Michael take the lead on vocals. This is true art and collaboration and when you hear the songs on a nice pair of buds or speakers, you can’t deny this is a very nice addition (not replacement, but a supplement) to the greatest Doobie Tunes. Michael and Sara on What a Fool Believes, outstanding.

Why are they stupid enough to do this?? They'll never recreate the greatness of the originals.

Once you get past the cool cover art and the first song, this Nashville experiment goes downhill fast. Come on Doobies -- you didn't have to do this. Even silence is better than what comes out of Nashville nowadays from this new country generation.

Awesome collaboration! These songs were originally written with a lot of Bluegrass roots so this mix is especially special! Great blend of old rock and new country!

I've been a follower of the Doobie Brothers since day one. They have always been one of my favorite bands. Yep, I've got almost all of their albums (vinyl and CD), so I've got almost all of their songs. I must say that these new renditions with country artists are very well done. Enough of the original sound to appreciate it is still Doobie-esk, but some new twists and twangs. I've never been a big country music fan, but I have to say that the artists on this album did the music justice. There are lots of musicians that have covered just about every artist out there. Call these covers, they still sound great. It makes a nice addition to my library.
