To me, this album demonstrates the high level of discipline that Beck is capable of. And bless his older sister, for feeding him this music at an early age!

Who would have thought that someone as innovative and creative in a rock and jazz sense as Jeff Beck could put together an album so true to the original material. These guys are able to take the best of this style of play and make it cook. Cliff Gallup was amazing. But all rockabilly can have its lame side with hokey songs and topics. This collection has none of that - only the good stuff. Just listen to "Double Talkin' Baby" for a truly killer sound and structure.

Jeff Beck and friends have completely captured the essence of What Gene Vincent was doing back then. The guitar work is really flawless. Please listen to the orignals and then to this newer version and prepared to be shocked. The beat is pure heaven and the vocals are incredible. 10 stars!!
    • A tribute to Gene Vincent and his guitarist Cliff Gallup

Of course I would first recommend to get the originals; many compilations of greatest hits of Gene Vincent exists. Cliff Gallup was Gene Vincent's legendary guitarist and his influence is very much alive here. The Gretch guitar in the album cover is similar to the one used by Cliff Gallup. This album really rocks and it is a great tribute by a great guitarist in his own right: Jeff Beck.

So what if it's missing. The singer is a Gene Vincent disciple and Mr. Beck plays guitar like it's 1955. If you love real rock and roll, You Better Blieve this one is for you and the Blues Will Stay Away, if you want them to. This one need 6 stars.
