Past the Edges

The song “Wind and Spirit” is on a personal list I’ve made mentally of my favorite Christian songs. Debatably, I think I would say it’s my number one favorite of Christian music songs (Thirsty might either be number 1, though, or at least, a close second). Not many Christian albums get me emotionally invested like this one has. God is really working through this man, and the album here is evidence of that. Every song is beautiful—well, except the cartoon song (sorry to anyone who is a fan of that song!!!! Believe me, though, I think I’ve at least come to a place of respecting the song and the people who enjoy it though; maybe I’ll come to a place where I finally come to love it). Great album! Check it out!

This is the best Chris Rice album, His lyrics are awesome. I dont know what people are saying about this not being his best album but, this is my definate fave. The other CD's like are just too blues-y for me. DEFINATLY GET THIS CD!! And Your Praise Goes On is and Incredible song!!! And so is Wind and Spirit!! So is The Power of a Moment!! They all are excellent!! I wnna know if any of his other CDs are in this style because its definatly his best.

I have not heard this album but like the song Smellin Coffee. This song needs to be made into a ringtone so it can be used as an alarm sound! Let me know if you do this.

Though this isn't Rice's best album, he has some excellent pieces on here. My tops are "Big Enough", "Live by Faith", "Thirsty" & "Missin' You/Cartoons". If you don't get the full album, make sure you get those!

Had to buy this again as we play it for every road trip....my husband said I have to have "Smellin Coffee" for the road, and our CD was skipping we played it sooo much. Love it! Love it! Love it!

Ok, I get into my car outside Krispy Kreme with a fresh cup of java and I flick on the radio. It's a typical cold overcast morning here in Lansing. This song I never heard before is already playing. I think, "It's got a good beat so I'll listen" as I settle in and put my seatbelt on. AT THE SAME EXACT TIME I take a big 'ole whiff of my coffee, I hear the first line of "I'm smellin' coffee"! I smile broadly at the coincidence and ALL is well with my soul. Only JUST AS the next line comes through to my ears "birds are singin' just outside"... a huge flock of starlings land right next to my drivers side window chirping wildly! I LAUGH OUT LOUD at the double coincidence. THEN I almost freaked out when through the sky-wide blanket of clouds comes the sun's rays FULL BLAST...AT THE SAME EXACT TIME the rest of the lyrics continue, "Here comes Your mercy streamin' in with the morning light... ...My heart is racin', wakin' up to You're smile. It's a good mornin', good mornin'". Let me tell you, I felt like a shower of living water was flowing through the inside of me! OF COURSE I bought this song! My most memorable morning on the planet in 38 years!

I love the wonderful lyrical stylings of Chris Rice on this album! His voice is crisp and bold!

THIS CD IS AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's not so much the lyrics as how Chris Rice sings his songs that make them so addicting, a great voice coupled with a solid list of abstract songs make this an addition to the playlist of anybody that enjoys his style of music.
