    • Good album

This is a very good Kansas album. It sounds like Kansas, yet it doesn't sound like any of their other albums. I think it's the best album Kansas have done without Kerry Livgren. To me, it's not a perfect album. New singer Ronnie Platt sounds more like Jon Elefante than Steve Walsh. I wish there were longer instrumental sections and/or what instrumental sections they do have were more exciting. Still, this is a terrific sounding album and there are plenty of catchy vocal melodies along with some beautiful violin lines and crunchy guitar riffs. Even though I still prefer the early Kansas albums, this is a pretty solid album.

This album is a must have for any fan of Kansas. I have been listening to this for the past month! It is lifted out of the annals of old Kansas records and will not disappoint. The tracks Rhythm in the Spirit and Voyage of Eight Eighteen will blow you away! Just saw them live as well. Absolutely incredible. They are as tight as they were in the 70s and 80s.

This IS Kansas. This is GOOD Kansas. When you listen, you'll say "this sounds like Kansas". After 40+ years, many bands are gone or have withered to an unrecognizable sound. The musicianship is awesome and there are many hints of phrases, time signatures and riffs from back in the good ol' days. Please listen, enjoy and spread the word!
    • New life to a classic band

This is an excellent album, in perfect step with the long history of great Kansas music. Ronnie Platt's voice has breathed new life into this classic band! I just saw them in concert and the songs off this album flowed seamlessly with the slew of great Kansas hits. They have never lacked musical skill, but Steve Walsh's voice had lost its pristine quality. While Ronnie's voice is not as unique as Steve's, he is a welcome addition to the line up. To me, he sounds like a good mixture of John Elefante and Steve Walsh - and that's a winning combination in my book!

This album takes me back to when I was a kid - and in a very good way. This could have come out decades ago and that's a compliment to the talent and wearwithall that is Kansas. There's not a bad song in the mix here. So enjoyable through and through. This album is fresh and alive. It's great to hear some new tunes from Kansas!
